Day 6 · Wednesday
Hike day, and everything is within 25 minutes of the bed. A loop over a mining saddle to Buggerru and back along wild cliff tops to a fjord-like cove, then the afternoon on the water under Pan di Zucchero if the sea and the boatmen allow.
The main surface car park, with a second one just east (39.37150, 8.38328). €5 in summer; a visitor found it free in April, so it’s probably free in November. A boardwalk leads 250 m to the beach.
Cost: Probably free in November

A fjord-like cove between limestone cliffs, guarded by a Spanish tower. The loop goes inland on a well-marked mining track over a saddle to Buggerru, then comes back along the wild cliff tops past the Pranu Sartu mine and down into the hidden cove of La Caletta. You finish by walking through a short mine tunnel onto the beach.
Reviewers say the cliff section is hard to follow and has sheer drops. It’s fine for fit, sure-footed hikers with a GPX. Turn back rather than improvise a line.

The sea is still about 20 °C, and the cove is sheltered from everything except a strong westerly. The Oasi Beach bar behind the beach may be shut (its season dates couldn’t be confirmed), so bring your own lunch.

Paid in summer, probably free now. A second gravel car park is at 39.33343, 8.42181.

Only if an operator agrees to a private trip (unlikely in November): a 1 h 30 RIB trip round Pan di Zucchero (the 130 m sea stack), under Porto Flavia, and into the Grotta di Sardegna, the cave whose entrance seen from inside has the shape of Sardinia (Iglesias tourism treats it as the “Grotta Azzurra”). Or a guided SUP to Porto Flavia. Only in calm sea, and only with a guide in November.
If nothing runs: sit on Masua beach (39.33328, 8.41978) right under Pan di Zucchero, or walk the coastal path south towards Nebida for an hour and back.

Back to the Nebida belvedere for a second sunset (≈ 17:22, 10 min from Masua), or watch it from Masua beach behind Pan di Zucchero. The Spanish tower above Cala Domestica is no longer a good option: its path (307) is overgrown.

From Pranu Sartu, go back the way you came (via Buggerru and the Genna Arenas saddle). It’s all marked trail, about 2 h back to the car.
The caves are out: Su Mannau closes from the end of October, and Is Zuddas has no visits on Wednesdays from 2 Nov (weekends only). Instead, a guided tour of the Montevecchio mine (50 min; book on +39 338 459 2082, 10:00–13:00 and 15:30–18:30). Do Porto Flavia today if you missed it, and coffee in Iglesias old town.
